Deborah Rudolph is curator of the rare materials collection of the C. V. Starr East Asian Library, University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this, she taught courses in classical Chinese and traditional Chinese culture at the university level. Since joining the East Asian Library, she has published an illustrated introduction to its rare materials collection, Impressions of the East (Berkeley, 2007), and has jointly edited a catalog of its Chinese rubbings collection, Bokelai Jiazhou daxue Dongya tushuguan cang beitie (Shanghai, 2008), and a selection of its Chinese manuscripts, Bokelai Jiazhou daxue Dongya tushuguan cang gaochao jiaoben congkan (Shanghai, 2013). She holds an MLS from UCLA and a PhD (classical Chinese) from UC Berkeley.
