Cynthia White is a Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Arizona where she is Director of the Undergraduate Latin Program. A recipient of the prestigious Rome Prize, she spent a year as a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, where she studied with the papal Latinist Reginald Foster, O.D.C. She regularly teaches in the University of Arizona study abroad programs in Classics at the Istituto Internazionale in Orvieto, Italy, and served as director of the Center Medieval and Renaissance studies in Prato, Italy. The recipient of several teaching and advising awards, she is the author and editor of many publications in the fields of classical, medieval, and Renaissance studies, including the monograph From the Ark to the Pulpit: An Edition and Translation of the “Transitional” Northumberland Bestiary (13thCentury), Brepols Press, 2009.
